ASIAN BEEF LENGUA
This packs a punch! Tender meat covered in an Asian flavored sauce that brings you a well rounded burst of umami! Feel free to serve on top of cauliflower rice.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 whole beef tongue
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 TBS garlic powder
- 1 TBS onion powder
- 1/2 TBS chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/2 cup beef broth (you can use bone too)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup coconut liquid aminos
- 2 TBS rice vinegar
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil (optional )
RECIPE STEPS:
- Mix all the spices together
- Cover sides and bottom of the tongue (the top will peel off so no reason so season it but if you want, feel free to!)
- Pour all liquid ingredients into your pressure cooker
- Slowly add the tongue into liquid. (Make sure some of your tongue is not submerged)
- Cook on high pressure for 2 hrs.
- Remove and then peel the tongue skin off the meat. Slice and enjoy!
NOTE: If you do not have a pressure cooker, you can follow the same steps in an oven pot or crock pot. For the oven, bake at 300 for 5-7 hrs or until you can easily stick a fork through it. In the crock pot, cook on low for 8 hrs.
