Keto Ramen

The weather across the country has definitely lent itself to making a nice steaming bowl of soup sound nice and here’s Coach Jon’s favorite way to hit that spot and his macros! This is certainly an example of how to make a ketogenic diet sustainable.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 10oz thinly sliced sirloin steak

  • 2 boiled eggs halved

  • 1 bag shiritaki noddles (Miracle Noodles as a brand example!)

  • 1 cup beef bone broth

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/4 cup liquid aminos

  • 1 TBS rice vinegar

  • 1 TBS fish sauce

  • 2 TBS minced garlic

  • 1/2 TBS grated ginger

  • Chili paste (optional)

RECIPE STEPS:

  1. Add all ingredients but noodles, egg and steak to a pot and heat until boiling.

  2. Prepare noodles (rinse well in cold water then dry on a kitchen towel!) and divide them into two bowls. Then place have the steak on top of each bowl.

  3. Strain broth and pour it over the noodles and beef, place your boiled egg on top and serve.

Note: The carbs include the shiritaki noodles but you don’t have to include them sense they are so minimal. Feel free to add butter to the broth to get fat and flavor up! You can also add additional traditional ramen toppings as desired as long as you track them, including sliced green onion, thinly sliced jalapeño, bean sprouts and chili sauce.
