KETO ORLANDO 2023!

Last week Coach Jon and I met up in Orlando for an incredible four days of community with a common thread. That common thread? The Ketogenic lifestyle!

Mike with KOS Founder Erika Bell

Keto Orlando Summit was founded five years ago by Erika Bell and she has overseen its evolution into the event it is today! The Summit is presented by Erika and Judith Kohlheim (and their awesome team, shout out to the 510 View Crew!) with the purpose of bringing together people with a common struggle and a common quest, understanding and living a sustainable ketogenic lifestyle regardless of the why’s and how’s of how you came to find it.

Jon with Keto Kamp’s Ben Azadi

It was my first time attending and I have to tell that it is one of the most unique keto events I have attended. Sure it had a full slate of incredible speakers including Maria Emmerich, Ben Azadi, Ken Berry, Dr. Boz, Mary Daniels and of course our own Coach Jon, but the intimate size of the event (250 attendees) and it’s structure was about way more than just sitting and listening.

It was about interacting with each other outside the lectures and during specific events designed to facilitate the sharing of journeys and experience. There is something incredibly powerful about a room full of people passing a microphone around and speaking of their experiences. Their incredible health victories, their dark challenging moments, all of it together.

Performnce Gainz booth

I got to specifically be a part of sharing Coach Jon’s Performnce Gainz line of supplements as a vendor which was an entirely new experience for me! Getting to talk to people not only about how PG came to be, it’s purpose and mission, but also about Jon’s passion to prove that every person can perform better in their lives. It lead to many one on one discussions with people about what brought them to the Summit and how they were enjoying it. I also got to spend time talking to many of the vendors themselves over the weekend getting an understanding of how their products and services came to exist and why they too have passion for them. I also got to spend a lot of time laughing with the team from Keto Chow!

Highlights of the event of course include getting to hear Jon give his presentation on how you can live your best life through developing habits that reflect his Primal Metabolism Program, sharing my journey and perspective as a coach on the Coaching Panel, seeing the community recognize the Champions of Health that we all are during the Gala, and the Luau Social that unexpectedly became a unique opportunity to hear individual stories told by the people themselves. We shared meals at the hotel restaurant educating the staff on how a keto party orders burgers, early morning swims, a 5K walk/run, and late nights around the hot tub and fire pits talking.

Mike speaking on the Coaches Panel

Orlando is a pretty special place in a lot of ways but this past weekend the most special part of it was happening in the Hilton Orlando meeting rooms. Like most keto events, the impact of attendance is hard to truly put into words but know for your investment in getting there you leave renewed, energized, and very much inspired. It was an awesome opportunity to put your own challenges into perspective, get feedback, find support and renewed vigor. You could not attend this event and walk away feeling like you were the same as when you arrived. I could fill an entire other blog with just the names of the people I got to speak with personally this weekend but instead I will say a huge thank you to EVERYONE who attended and a special shout to the volunteer organizers who took the time to make sure that everything ran smoothly and took special care to make sure every attendee be they an old friend or first timer felt welcomed.

So I will leave you with this as I still process the lessons I have learned this passed weekend, if you see a keto event pop up on your radar and you’re thinking about going, do it. It’s normal to hesitate and yes they can often involve an investment of your resources to get there, but the returns you get are more than worth it! And if KOS intrigues you, tickets for next year are on sale now, click here to get yours!
