GARLIC BUTTER PORK CHOPS & BRAISED CABBAGE
Buttery and delicious… need I say more? Total carbs are higher on this one but are worth the hearty meal!
INGREDIENTS:
4 8oz pork chops
8 tbs butter
1 tbs garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1 medium head of cabbage
1/2 bag or 1 cup of mini carrots
Half a medium white onion
1/2 cup red wine
1/2 cup of broth
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp bacon fat
RECIPE STEPS:
For the cabbage:
Put bacon fat in Dutch oven or large oven safe pot.
Slice cabbage into steaks, salt on both sides and fry on both sides. Take out of the pot and set aside.
Slice onion and add to pot. Cook until translucent. Add in red wine to de glaze pan. Stir until all those good chunks are no longer stuck to the pot
Add carrots, cabbage and broth. Stir
Place in oven for 90 mins
For the pork chops:
Salt each chop
Cook on medium heat for 5-6 mins each side.
Add butter in garlic to pan and baste for 1 min.
Take pork chops out and pour the butter mixture in the pan over the chops.
Let rest 5 mins
Serve together and enjoy!
