This recipe that uses one of Coach Jon’s specialties he created a few years ago, Carnivore Bread! This is a hearty dish, so feel free to adapt it as you need to in order to fit your plan.
INGREDIENTS:
Carnivore Bread Ingredients:
1lb ground pork
5oz pork rind crumbs
8 eggs
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
Patty Melt Ingredients:
2 slices Carnivore Bread
4oz 85/15 Ground Beef
2 slices Muenster cheese (42g)
1.5 oz onion sliced
1.5 TBSP butter
Brown mustard (or condiment of choice!)
RECIPE STEPS:
Make the Bread!
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Separate the eggs and beat the whites until stiff peaks form.
Take the egg yolks, seasonings and combine with ground meat. You can do this by hand or in a food processor.
Add in half the egg whites to the mixture and blend well.
After blending together gently fold in the rest of the egg whites. The batter will be lighter and bouncier.
Add in crushed pork rinds and again gently FOLD in until fully combined.
Place in a loaf pan and bake at 375’F for 50-60 mins or until it starts to brown. Let cool and slice into 16 thin slices.
Make your Patty Melt!
Add 0.5 TBSP butter to pan over medium high heat, when melted add onion. Sauté until well browned, set aside.
Flatten beef into a thin patty. Season & cook burger to desired doneness in a skillet.
Heat remaining butter in a skillet large heat enough to fit both slices of bread over medium high.
When butter starts to bubble, add bread slices and top with cheese. Cover pan and cook until cheese melts and bread browns well, 5-10 minutes.
Add burger to one slice of bread & onions/mustard to the second. Combine and cook an additional minute on each side.
Serve!
